I can now confirm via multiple sources that around May 26 Sony will announce the new “Sony ZV1” compact selfie camera. The camera is specially made for vloggers and has the following characteristics:

1. Improved mic
2. Vari Angle LCD
3. 24-70mm F1.8 – 2.8
4.One Touch Bokeh Feature
5. Auto Object Detect
6. Existing Real Time AF and Real time Eye AF

Don’t worry, after the May 26 event Sony will have a MAJOR Full Frame E-mount event in June!  And keep always in mind SAR was the only website reporting the ZV1 rumor yet. All the others are copycats ;)

A couple of days ago I posted this rumor about a new ZV1 selfie blogging camera that might be announced on May 26. Well Nokishita reports about a new registration in Asia where the camera gets mentioned within a new “DC” (Digital Still) category instead of the previously used “DSC” (Digital Still Camera)

While this isn’t a confirmation the ZV1 rumor is correct it certainly gives is a bit more credibility. We will see soon…

Reminder: Don’t forget there is a second registered camera code for a new High End model. And I am 100% certain this is for a new FF E-mount camera coming in June!

About those rumors: I have no idea who sent them and 90% of the times they turn out to be wrong. But, it happened in the past that a couple of those were right. So I will post them today, and we all together can eventually keep track of this. If one of the sources turns out to be right than we will know we can trust it a bit more!

The case will see the first major case redesign in years.

it will record 4k60 for 5min.
USB C is accompanied by Mic and Headphone jack
Introduction of a new live streaming mode via WLAN
New built in beauty mode also in video
One additional button on the back and one on the top

There are actually two versions of the lens designed. A 20-200mm f2.8 and a 16-50mm f1.4.
Now the sad news: Because of the corona outbreak production that was supposed to start in Jan/Feb is delayed for at least for months.

The A7IV prototypes were already in the hands of a few select testers all the way back in the beginning of the year. It was a very insignificant update, as it was basically the same as the A7RIV with a lower resolution, no real video upgrades. We would have already had the announcement, but Sony recalled them in February and has gone back to development, as they have realized that the camera needs much higher video specification. They have will now be releasing the A7IV this year, and it will have 4k 60, 10bit and ProRes Raw they HDMI, but there will be an announcement later of another higher end A7 body that will offer 8k ProRes raw, 4k 120 internal, and use cfexpress.

As he have confirmed, the a7sIII is going to be announced in July as you mentioned.
The planned release date is early to mid september.
And there are also two more cameras to be released in september: a fixed lens like the RX100 and the Sony a7IV.

A solid long time source told us Sony would announce a new compact camera in late May. And now a “second  source” told us this:

Sony will announce a new “Sony ZV1” compact camera at 10:00am New York time on 26th May 2020. This will be Perfect for vlogger.

I am not 100% sure yet this rumor is legit. But that “second source” was right on the rumor about the new Bluetooth handle so there is a fair chance he may be right on the camera name. I personally would find it weird if the change the “RX” naming to “ZV”. But maybe that camera is much more than an RX styled selfie camera?

At last! In June we will finally get at least one new FF camera and at least one new FF lens. I have been told this is a major E-mount event with some surprises (which means stuff that wasn’t rumored).

What to expect?
I heard previously that the A7sII successor might be announced on a late June event so this may be the camera we will get. And I am 90% certain there is a 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens coming this summer so maybe that’s the lens that will be announced in June too.

Surprise?
I have been told there is something more than this…stay tuned…

I know I disappointed you when I told you that on the April 30 press event Sony would not announce anything interesting. But now I can finally (and confidently) say that the tide has turned. The next 3 months will be “very busy”. And today I will share the first part of the many rumors to come!

I can now tell you with 99% certainty that by end of May Sony will have the FIRST of a series of many announcements! And they are going to announce a new compact compact camera! Ee know in January this camera was registered on an Asian agency and uses the NP-BX1 battery so it may be a new RX100-RX1 or some other compact model.

I hear you folks, I know RX isn’t the camera that you are waiting for. But don’t worry, I will tell you in my next rumor something you will love much more ;)
