(SR5) Updated: These are the next two new Sony Full Frame 16bit sensors (also for third party manufacturers)

This is from a source that was 100% correct with the rumors he shared in the past. According to him Sony will soon announce these two new Full Frame sensors:
Sensor 1:
60MP
16 channels (which is crazy, normally it should be 8),
4.6FPS@16bit
12FPS@14bit
8k30P@12bit
8K60p@10bit
4k60p@12bit
FHD300P@10bit
Sensor 2:
36MP
10FPS@16bit
60FPS@10bit
on-chip PDAF

The source also told me the sensors will have this:

1: Weighted pixel binning: improve the image quality when shooting videos with pixel binning. Already featured in a lot of Sony sensors.
2: A new dual-gain ADC mode: improve the dynamic range by almost 2 stops. The sensor loses 50% speed when using it. Details not known yet. Already in XT3’s sensor.
3: Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR): It’s like bracketing, but you can shoot 2 frames almost at the same time! (The minimum time interval is only 1/6000 seconds). All the new sensors with 3.76um pixel size have this function.
As I said I am 99% sure the rumors is valid and these sensors will be on market soon. UPDATE: The source now added that these two sensors will be available for Sony own products and for third party companies.
My guess is that the A7sIII or other High End Sony E-mount cameras will not use those sensors. But as pointed out by our rader Primitivelamps:
It is irrelevant if these specific sensors are used or not in the next Sony cameras. The point is the sensors/tech are available, so it is not a stretch to think the next Sony cameras are using something similar.
Yes, I expect Sony’s next generation cameras to use a similar sensor. What I also wonder is if Sony will use Global Shutter sensors…

(SR5) UPDATED: Sony registered a new mirrorless camera in Asia! Sony A7000 is coming!

At last folks!  Today Sony registered a new camera code in Asia. According to Nokishita the code “WW715296” is for a mirrorless system camera! We know from our sources the High End APS-C cameras is the next camera that will be announced by Sony. So I bet this is the new A7000 (or A6xxx). UPDATE: My bet was misplaced, this is the A6400!

(SR4) Sony A7sIII has new stacked sensor and will be on market by early 2019

Small update on the Sony A7sIII camera. A long time Asian source sent me this:

The development of α7sⅢ has been postponed because of heat issue (SAR note: That’s why it’s not coming in 2018).
α7sⅢ will have stacked CMOS sensor but the sensor is different to α9’s.
α7sⅢ will be sold in 2019’s early.

The A7sIII will surely have 4k60p and 5.6 milion dot EVF.
Before the As7III gets launched we should get the new High End APS-C camera along with new lenses.

A fake A6700 spec list is going around the web

I got this image last week but I didn’t post it because I know with 100% certainty this is fake. But some sites posted exactly theses specs and readers asked my opinion on this. So here is my opinion: It is fake as you can see from the image showing the FF sensor inside the body. Moreover I know the source of this image and I know it has a long history of sharing such fake spec lists.

The only 80% reliable info I got so far is that the new APS-C High End camera will be Sony’s next announcement (and before the A7sIII). And it will have the EVF in the center and NOT be the A6500 successor but a new kind of model. It’s unclear when it will be announced although one single and usually reliable source told me he heard Sony has one more announcement before Christmas. But I got no other confirmation to back this up and it might be that this one source may be mislead by Sony…

New Rumors recap: A7000, A7sIII, new lenses…

Time for a recap before we post some new rumors:

Sony A7000:
One source heard the camera might be announced before Christmas. But so far I got no confirmation from other sources and no new Sony camera has yet been registered in Asia neither.
The little we know about this camera is that it has an EVF in the center and that it’s going to be a sort of mini-A9. Likely specs: 4k60p, 5.6 milion dot EVF and 20fps. Sony officially confirmed that developing professional APS-C camera is a must.

Sony A7sIII:
As told by Sony this camera will arrive in 2019. For sure it has 4k60p, 4:2:2 10bit (external), 5.6 milion dot EVF, new stacked sensor. Sony also said it will have some “unexpected” features. Unclear what they could be.

Sony FE lenses:
135mm f/1.8 likely to be announced along the A7000 or in early 2019.
New APS-C E-mount lens will be announced along the A7000.
Sony patented a new 500mm and 600mm f/4.0 FE lens. One of them could be announced in 2019.
Sony 200-600mm FE is also on the roadmap.

Tamron FE:
100-400mm 5-6.3 and 70-200mm f/2.8 FE could be announced in 2019.

Sigma FE:
Sigma will announce the first FF lenses exclusively designed for mirrorless in 2019.

This is the new 7Artisans 60mm f/2.8 macro APS-C E-mount lens

An anonymous source sent us this first image of the new 7Artisans 60mm f/2.8 macro APS-C E-mount lens. There is no info on the pricing and availability date yet.

Just recently 7Artisans launched the 35mm f/1.2 lens which is now in Stock at Amazon US, Amazon DE, Amazon FR, Amazon UK, Amazon IT, Amazon ES.

Note: The description above contains an erorr when describing the Lens construction. This is a screenshot from a beta page. So It is still under construction and mistakes will be fixed.
