Sony Japan issued a “high demand” warning on the A99II. Because of unexpected high demand on the domestic (Japanese) market they expect a delay int he A99II shipment. It is unclear yet if also countries are affected by this.
The new Laowa 12mm f/2.8 FE lens is now available for preorder at for E-mount at BHphoto (Click here) and at Laowa store. The A-mount version is also available at BHphoto (Click here). The lens has almost Invisible distortion and is the fastest 12mm lens on market.
SAR reader Andras sent me that picture of the Sony A68 having the new Sony menu. Apparently the new A68 Stock is shipping with that newer interface. I am wondering if current A68 owners will get a firmware update soon to get the new menu too.

The Sony A7 camera series is back in Stock in almost all US and EU stores. I guess this means the Kumamoto negative impact on the camera shipments is almost over. Just recently Sony manager Kimio Maki told at Amateur Photographer:
“The situation is getting better. With regard to returning to normal, we’re expecting that this will be the case by the end of October.”
And Reuters reports another good news:
Ueda said combined monthly production would rise in the second half of this business year from 70,000 wafers at present to 73,000 wafers – full capacity at Sony’s five image sensor plants. The figure excludes outsourced production.
