RUMOR: Here are the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8m lens specs!

Very approximative size comparison between the Sony GM,  new Sigma and the Tamron

I received the full specs of the new Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 FE lens that will be announced tomorrow:

Lens construction: 15 groups, 19 elements
Angle of view: 84–34
Number of diaphragm blades: 11 (Rounded diaphragm)
Minimum aperture: F22
Minimum focusing distance: 18–38cm
Maximum magnification ratio: Wide 1:2.9-Tele 1:4.
Filter size: φ82mm｜
Dimensions (diameter x length): φ87mm × 122mm / φ3.5in. × 4.8in.｜Weight: 835g / 29.5oz.

UPDATE: I have been told the lens will ship in December already!

The lens is 1,5cm shorter than the Sony GM and weights 30g less. Still no info  about the price but it should cost a bit more than the 24-70mm f/2.8 Canon EF version. but  still $700-$800 less than the Sony GM!

RUMOR: Sigma will announce the new 24-70mm f/2.8 FE lens on November 6

And here comes the big news: Sigma will announce the new 24-70mm f/2.8 FE lens on November 6. The lens will than be available sometimes in 2020. Price has to be determined but I bet it will cost $200-$300 more than the current 24-70mm f/2.8 Canon EF version. I also have been told 1-2 more Sigma FE zooms will be announced in 2020!

Note: This lens will be available as native L-mount version too.

No new camera til early 2020…next announcement in February

This is quite obvious: But Sony has not registered any new camera code which supports the idea that we will not get  any other new camera in 2019. Historically the next announcement window is “February”. So place your bet  now:

Tamron says they have SIX more FE Lenses on their roadmap!

Preorders:
Tamron 20mm  f/2.8 at Adorama and BHphoto.
Tamron 24mm  f/2.8 at Adorama and BHphoto.
Tamron 35mm  f/2.8 at Adorama and BHphoto.

In an interview  released at Personal View Tamron manager Jared Powers said that Tamron has already SIX new FE lenses on their roadmap! Jared couldn’t share any details about those yet. What do you hope  it’s on that roadmap? Let us know on the comment system…I am sure Tamron managers will read it  :)

One more news: The 70-180mm f/2.8 lens will be on market the first  half of 2020!
